The dedication remains intact 40 years later and is reflected in each and every one of its products, among which stands out the unmistakable 100% Iberian acorn-fed ham with DO Dehesa de Extremadura.
But what is the secret? They control each and every part of the process, from the same selection of parents until the product is ready for consumption. In the 18,000 hectares of the Dehesa in the cradle of the best Iberian, Extremadura, (is an ecological paradise, having one of the best preserved ecosystems in Europe) we find that there are several responsible for influencing the quality of its entire range of products .
In this meadow there is an authentic natural refuge that has not changed over the centuries. An agroforestry system, which allows a balanced and non-abusive exploitation of natural resources. An authentic paradise full of forests of oaks and cork oaks where the pigs walk freely. In this wonderful environment for breeding, we also find deer, wild boar, dormice, cows, sheep, goats, birds…
A natural and unique ecosystem. Extrem Puro Extremadura respect for this ecosystem is vital to achieve a product of such excellent quality. Their pigs live in absolute freedom in the pasture (they have more than double the square meters required by the Iberian Standard). They produce at the rate of what their pastures can feed and maybe that is also one of the keys to their success.
