King prawns with garlic and Iberian ham
Well, we have already thought of another recipe for you and as the main ingredient how not the ham (Serrano or Iberian, we prefer the Iberian for this recipe). Delicious king prawns with garlic and Iberian ham, perfect for a tapa or even as a main course.
Ingredients for 4 servings
– 1 kg. of prawns, without shell
– Salt
– 8 garlic cloves rolled
– 1/2 cup olive oil
– 25 g of Iberian ham cut into thin strips (you can buy it here)
– 1 chopped red pepper
– 1 cayenne
– 1/3 cup Oloroso Jerez
– fresh chopped parsley
Preparation
FIRST STEP: Sprinkle with salt the prawns on both sides and leave them for 10 minutes between 2 layers of absorbent kitchen paper.
SECOND STEP: In a large pan with olive oil, sauté the garlic and cayenne on a moderate heat until it is sufficiently browned. Then we remove the slices of garlic, cayenne and reserve.
THIRD STEP: In the same pan add the ham and red pepper and cook the mixture stirring until the pepper softens. Then add the prawns and sauté the mixture over medium high heat, about 3 minutes.
FOURTH STEP: Add the sherry and garlic and simmer the mixture, stirring occasionally, until the prawns are well cooked. We pass the whole to a serving dish and sprinkle with the parsley. Ready to serve!
